资源简介:
This study evaluates the feasibility of Picterus JP in real-world conditions, in a resource limited setting in Oaxaca, Mexico by employing a mixed-methods approach including an RCT with both qualitative and quantitative assessments of the implementation process. The control group received standard jaundice screening and the intervention group was screened with Picterus JP plus the standard screening. Feasibility outcomes, including recruitment capability, device practicality, and fidelity to the study protocol were assessed.
Results: the intervention group showed a statistically significant higher proportion of newborns who screened positive, were successfully referred to ER (both p<0.001) and a higher proportion of newborn requiring and receiving treatment (p<0.05) compared to the control group. There was a high recruitment rate (86%), low failure rate of the device (2.2%) and high adherence to the protocol.
