资源简介:
Nearly continuous, monthly averaged measurements of hydrogen peroxide, nitrate, liquid conductivity, and 12 elements (Na, Mg, Al, S, Ca, Mn, Fe, Rb, Sr, Ce, Pb, and U) for two intermediate depth ice cores collected at WAIS Divide in late 2005. Annual markers in the chemical records were identified (primarily hydrogen peroxide and the nssSulfur to Sodium ratio). Monthly depths in each year were estimated assuming a uniform accumulation rate throughout each year. All ~129 m of WDC06Q and the upper ~70 m of the ~300 m long WDC05A core were analyzed using the Desert Research Institute’s unique continuous flow analysis with trace elements dual (CFA-TED) ice core melter system (see McConnell et al., ES&T, 2002; McConnell et al., GRL, 2002; McConnell et al., PNAS, 2007; McConnell et al., Science, 2007; McConnell and Edwards, PNSA, 2008). Preliminary measurements of black carbon were made on WDC05A. The WDC06A record spans 1775 through 2004. The WDC06Q record spans 1520.5 through 2005. Annual net snow accumulation based on these measurements was published in Banta et al. JGR, 2008. As of July 2010, most of the chemistry records are unpublished but available from Dr. Joe McConnell at joe.mcconnell@dri.edu.
