This dataset describes decomposition of white cotton fabric of 3 different weights (GSM) of 135, 170 and 200 GSM. It contains weight, tensile strength, visual colour assessment, and electronic colour assessment in CIEL*a*b* colour space before burial and after recoveries at 4, 8, and 12 weeks. The samples were buried in University of Dundee allotments.
