No. 4: Crew members of United States Fish & Wildlife Research Service boat Charles H. Gilbert are shown laying the 'long line' and baited hook overside in demonstration of new type of fishing here. Japanese have used system for 30 years. No. 10: Shows buoy going overboard to mark end of one 1200 foot section of the 'long line'. No. 15: William Royce, service biologist (see above) shows Tony Barcott, President of the Fishermen's Cooperative Association on in San Pedro, and William Moore, manager of the Van Camp cannery project in Samoa where long lines are used, how winch works in recovering lines at rate of 600 feet per minute".
