Microbacterium foliorum strain SZ1, isolated from a gold mining environment was found to be highly tolerant to arsenic and demonstrated efficient reduction of As (V) to As (III). Thus, we aim to characterize the whole genome of Microbacterium foliorum SZ1 to gain insights into its reduction mechanism and the future potential to be applied as an agent in bioremediation of arsenic.
