It is an object of the present invention to provide an organic resin non-crimped staple fiber having uniform dispersibility in a dispersion medium and very few defects, which is suitable for wet nonwoven fabrics or resin reinforcement for industrial materials and household materials. In the present invention, the fineness is 0.0001 to 0.6 decitex, the fiber length is 0.01 to 5.0 mm, the moisture content is 10 to 200% by weight, the cut end coefficient defined below is 1.00 to 1.40, the fiber length relative coefficient of variation (CV%) As an organic resin non-crimped staple fiber of 0.0 to 15.0%, the above problem can be solved by adopting this configuration. Here, the coefficient of cut end and the coefficient of relative variation in fiber length are defined by the following equation. (1) Cut end coefficient = b/a (The fiber diameter of the single yarn of the non-crimped staple fiber is referred to as a, and the maximum diameter of the cut end is referred to as b) (2) Relative coefficient of variation in fiber length (CV%) = (of the fiber length Standard deviation)/(average value of fiber length) x 100 (%) In both (1) and (2), the number of single yarn measurements was 50. The present invention is an organic resin non-crimped staple fiber in which the fiber fineness is 0.0001-0.6 dtex, the fiber length is 0.01-5.0 mm, the moisture percentage is 10-200 wt%, the cut-end coefficient defined below is 1.00-1.40, and the coefficient of variation (CV%) relative to fiber length is 0.0-15.0%. Adopting this configuration makes it possible to meet the above objective. Here, the cut-end coefficient and the coefficient of variation relative to fiber length are defined by the equations below. (1) Cut-end coefficient = b/a (where a represents the fiber diameter of a single strand of non-crimped staple fiber, and b represents the maximum diameter at cut end). (2) Coefficient of variation (CV%) relative to fiber length = (standard deviation of fiber length) / (average value of fiber length) x 100 (%). For both (1) and (2), the number of measured single strands is 50.
