Annual Dataset for Iran: Load-Capacity Factor, Biocapacity per Capita, Ecological Footprint per Capita, External Debt, GDP Growth, Natural Resource Rents, and Renewable Energy Consumption (1995–2023)

This dataset provides annual data for Iran from 1995 to 2023 and includes the following variables: • Load-Capacity Factor (CF): calculated as the ratio of biocapacity per capita to ecological footprint per capita (both in global hectares, gha). For each year, CF = Biocapacity per capita / Ecological Footprint per capita. Data for both components were sourced from the Global Footprint Network. • External Debt (ED): total external debt stock as a percentage of GNI. • GDP Growth Rate (EGDP): annual percentage growth rate of GDP. • Natural Resource Rents (NNR): total natural resource rents as a percentage of GDP. • Renewable Energy Consumption (REC): share of renewables in total final energy consumption (percent). All data are compiled from the World Bank and the Global Footprint Network, fully cleaned, and provided in an Excel file suitable for quantitative research on Iran’s environmental and economic trends.
