Elemental analysis (Total C, Total Org. C, Total N, Total S, and CaCO3*) of bulk sediment from the Terrebonne Basin, Walker Ridge Block 313, Site H, Expedition UT-GOM2-2

This dataset contains total carbon, total organic carbon, total nitrogen, total sulfur, and calcium carbonate* elemental analysis data of sediment samples from whole round cores. Sample were measured at the University of New Hampshire using an Elementar Unicube CHNS elemental analyzer. See Expedition UT-GOM2-2 Methods: Sediment Geochemistry (Flemings et al., 2025a, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13971228). The attached readme file, previewed below, describes all the data files in this dataset and their contents. Additional data you might expect to find in this dataset can instead be found at the following locations: All measurements presented were made on the resulting interstitial water whole round (IWR) squeeze cakes after pore water extraction. The pore water sample depths can be found in the curation dataset (http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14926309). Additional discrete samples were also acquired but not measured during the expedition. See tab “Sample-measurement log”, sample code “CNS”. *Bulk sediment total inorganic carbon (TIC) was calculated by difference where TIC (total inorganic carbon) = TC-TOC). CaCO3 weight percents were calculated by multiplying the IC weight percentages (IC = TC-TOC) by 8.33 to account for the non‑carbon mass fraction.
