资源简介:
The data set contains simulated observations of fishing catch and effort for individually simulated commercial fishing vessels, analogous to the reef fish logbook data that commercial fishers are required to submit to the National Marine Fisheries Service. A reference to the simulation model used to develop this data and its mathematical structure can be found here: Saul, Steven, Elizabeth N. Brooks, and David Die. 2020. How fisher behavior affects stock assessment: insights from an agent-based modeling approach. Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences 77(11): 1749-1757. DOI:10.1139/cjfas-2019-0025. This dataset is one of a suite of eight for which statistical methods and machine learning algorithms were used to simulate various measures of fish population health, including abundance surveys, mortality estimates, and fisheries catch and effort reports. Related datasets are R5.x289.000:0002 (doi:10.7266/n7-scsn-ws67, simulated population size and age data); R5.x289.000:0003 (doi:10.7266/n7-bvvg-rz27, simulated life history characteristics of sample fish caught by a simulated commercial fisher); R5.x289.000:0005 (doi:10.7266/n7-0v4e-v691, spatial distribution of simulated oil-induced mortality in Gulf reef fish species); R5.x289.000:0006 (doi:10.7266/n7-gtwq-5y46, simulated fishing effort by handline and longline commercial vessels); R5.x289.000:0007 (doi:10.7266/n7-qf7p-gt16, spatial distribution of simulated annual catch of Gulf reef fish species); R5.x289.000:0008 (doi:10.7266/n7-1cb3-8j47, simulated annual reported Gulf reef fish species abundance and biomass); and R5.x289.000:0009 (doi:10.7266/7XFDXRD9, Gulf reef fish abundance statistically modeled using video survey methods).
