Podospora anserina is a model organism that demonstrates a pronounced senescence in culture. However, it shows no signs of senescence when cultured in submerged aerated conditions. We conducted a long-term experiment to study genetic changes that take place during the adaptation of P. anserina towards the conditions of submerged cultivation.
