FUNCTIONS AND THEIR TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Abstract. This article discusses the concept of a function, its role in mathematics, and the theoretical and practical aspects of the methodology for teaching functions. The issues of developing mathematical thinking, logical thinking, and analytical skills in students when teaching functions are analyzed. The importance of using modern pedagogical technologies and interactive methods in teaching the methods of representation, graphs, and basic properties of functions is also shown. The article discusses the problems encountered in teaching the topic of functions, ways to overcome them, and the effectiveness of practical exercises. It is substantiated that students can achieve a deeper understanding of the topic through the use of information and communication technologies. The results of the study serve to improve the quality of teaching functions and develop students' mathematical competencies.
