A bootstrapping method corrected for a substantial proportion of overestimation of test accuracy estimates when optimal cutoffs and accuracy were estimated simultaneously

Using data-driven methods to determine optimal cutoffs often fails to identify the correct optimal cutoff and exaggerates accuracy. We evaluated the performance of a bootstrapping method to correct associated accuracy estimates for optimism.
