NRS-13804 | Reports of land sold at tender after auction

These reports consist of tenders for land offered for sale at auction under the provision of the Australian Waste Lands Act, 5 & 6 Vic. c.86, but not sold at auction. Section 12 of the Act permitted that county lands not sold at auction could be sold by private contract at a price not less than the upset price at auction, or not less than any price above the upset price offered at the auction (less the amount paid in deposit at the sale). The Crown Land Alienation Act, 1861, 24 Vic. No.1, which repealed the Australian Waste Lands Act also provided that county lots not sold at auction could be sold by private contract on similar terms to those in the earlier Act. This applied also to conditional purchases abandoned within three years of the date or purchase. The reports show the date of proclamation of the sale, the place of sale, location of the land, the area of the land, the upset price of the lot and the amount of fees for the deed.(7/1244-49). 5 vols.
