VvSAUR041, a small auxin-up RNA-like gene, regulates berry size in grape

We identified 60 SAUR members in the grape genome and divided them into 12 subfamilies based on phylogenetic analysis. We screened three candidate genes according to gene structure and expression analysis and then predicted that VvSAUR041, which belongs to the VII B subfamily, might be related to cell expansion according to the interaction regulation network. Therefore, we speculated that VvSAUR041 could increase berry size by participating in cell expansion. To confirm this, we observed the tissue sections of transgenic materials. Compared with the control, transgenic material cells have a larger area. These results provide a good basis for studying the function of the SAUR family during berry development.
