Symbiotic and surrounding environmental fungal communities of wild Gastrodia elata tubers in Zhaotong, Yunnan, PRC

Gastrodia elata Bl. is a full myco-heterotrophic orchid that widely distributed in Northeast Asia, and its symbiotic fungal community of early immature tubers remains to be investigated. In this research, Illumia sequencing was used to detect and compare the symbiotic fungal communities of immature tubers of natural G. elata and the fungal communities in their habitats.Internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions of the ribosomal DNA were chosen as PCR amplification targets for fungal DNA barcoding.
