Thr & Cys-MLS correlations in 20 primates and tree shrew.

We estimated the Thr-Log(MLS), Cys-Log(MLS) and Thr/Cys-Log(MLS) correlation coefficients (R) by using the multivariate regression analysis. The result of least square (LS) which does not take account of the tree structure is compared with that of the phylogenetic generalized least-squares (PGLS) which takes account of it (Materials and Methods). The parentheses give the p-values for significance. The correlations were more explicit in the hydrophobic region (S>0.6) of the AA sites in the 4 proteins (ND1, ND2, ND4 and Cytb).
