Temporary commodity price shocks may not accelerate forest loss: the case of rubber in Xishuangbanna, China

This repository contains the dataset and R code used in the study 'Temporary commodity price shocks may not accelerate forest loss: the case of rubber in Xishuangbanna, China.'. Our study uses the synthetic control method to compare low-elevation forest loss trajectories in Xishuangbanna with counterfactuals modelled using other non-rubber producing prefectures in subtropical China.
