VPRS 17362 General Correspondence Files, East Gippsland Catchment and Land Protection Board

This series comprises correspondence files maintained by the Board. The files contain inward and copies of outward correspondence relating to all functions undertaken by the Board. The correspondence is arranged by meeting number of the Board. Meetings were numbered sequentially. Each item of inward and outward correspondence was registered with a number. Incoming correspondence was recorded in the Incoming Mail Register. Each item of correspondence was given a 3 part number. The first two parts of the number designate the meeting agenda item number. The third part of the number refers to the item of correspondence. Items of correspondence were numbered sequentially. The same system applied to outward correspondence. That correspondence was controlled by the Outgoing Mail Register. The mail registers record a precise of each item of correspondence.
