Computerized tomography scans of great-tailed grackle (Quiscalus mexicanus) skulls (v1)

The study aimed at investigating whether, in great-tailed grackles (Quiscalus mexicanus), endocranial volume (a proxy for brain size), as measured by computerized tomography (CT) scans, could be accurately estimated using external skull measurements and/or by filling skulls with beads and pouring them out into a graduated cylinder for male and female great-tailed grackles. This dataset includes CT scans of 42 grackle skulls. The raw CT scans are available and can be opened and analyzed using a DICOM viewer like [OsiriX Lite](https://www.osirix-viewer.com/). This skull imaging data is suitable for other lines of research, including studies of braincase shape, skull thickness.
