This dataset contains supplementary materials and ethical documentation supporting the manuscript titled "Visibility, Design, and Digital Readiness of Outdoor Health IEC Materials in Urban Lagos: A Cross-Sectional Audit". The study conducted a stratified cross-sectional field audit of 256 outdoor Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials across 12 socio-economically diverse communities in Lagos, Nigeria. Data collection occurred in January 2026. The research assessed composite visibility, design quality (legibility, contrast, text-to-graphic ratio), and digital readiness (QR codes, USSD, contact tools) of health versus non-health IECs.Data Contents: This repository includes the following files:Supplementary file for Tables 2 and 4 (longer than 2 pages)Supplementary file for rubric scoring: S1 Scoring Rubric for Composite Visibility (Placement × Format).Supplementary Table S2: Scoring Rubric for Composite Design Quality (Legibility, Contrast, Text-Graphic Ratio).Supplementary Table S3: Scoring Rubric for Composite Digital Presence (Tool Count, Prominence, Call-to-Action).Ethical Clearance Document: Approval/Waiver letter from the Health Research Ethics Committee (Reference: UNILAGREC/25/11/009).MethodologyDesign: Stratified cross-sectional audit.Setting: 12 communities in Lagos, Nigeria (stratified by High, Medium, and Low Socio-Economic Status).Instrument: Adapted from the Communication Assessment Tool Checklist in Health (CATCH) and WHO Health Literacy Checklist.Analysis: Data analyzed using SPSS Statistics v28 (chi-square tests, Cramér's V effect sizes, Wilson score CIs).Ethics and Privacy The study was reviewed by the Health Research Ethics Committee of the University of Lagos, which granted a waiver of ethical approval (Reference Number: UNILAGREC/25/11/009). The research involved photographic documentation of publicly displayed materials in outdoor spaces and did not involve human subjects or the collection of personal data. All images were anonymized during analysis, and the final dataset retains no details of identifiable persons or private property.Funding: This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.
