SBOM Dataset from Autopilot-related Open Source Projects

This dataset consists of SPDX-compatible Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) generated on February 25, 2025, from the source code of 530 public GitHub repositories. It was curated to focus on autopilot-related software, following a methodology similar to that employed by Kochanthara et al. in compiling a dataset for automotive software (https://doi.org/10.1145/3524842.3528460). The GitHub REST API was used to identify repositories associated with autopilot systems by querying relevant topics. An initial list of 35 topics was derived by analyzing those linked to well-known autopilot software projects. Representative topics include advanced-driver-assistance-systems, autonomous, autopilot, drone, rover, and uav. The full list of topics used is available in the accompanying GitHub repository. All SBOMs are provided in JSON format and were generated via the GitHub API by accessing each repository’s dependency graph.
