Radiation Attenuates Prostate Tumor Antiviral Responses to Vesicular Stomatitis Virus Containing Interferon-β, Resulting in Pronounced Antitumor Systemic Immune Responses

Gene expression microarray analysis of LNCaP and PC3 cells grown in vitro,examine gene expression changes in response to RT potentiated VSV-hIFNβ oncolysis because of its inherent resistance to VSV-hIFNβ infection. LNCaP and PC3 cells were cultured in complete medium. After 24 hours, the cells were treated with VSV-hIFNβ. Twenty four hours after viral treatment, both cell lines were irradiated with 5Gy. The assay was terminated 24 h after RT. Total RNA was extracted for microarray analysis.
