This study describes a novel function for the ST6GAL1 sialyltransferase in promoting acinar to ductal metaplasia (ADM). ST6GAL1 activity facilitates ADM by reprogramming acinar cells into a more progenitor-like state. Overall design: Sequencing of RNA from organoids derived from the pancreas of genetically-engineered mouse models (GEMMs). The GEMMs have ectopic expression of ST6GAL1 and/or KRASG12D. Three distinct organoid lines per genotype were analyzed.
