资源简介:

Overview: This repository contains all data generated and analyzed in association with the article: "Marine Primary Production Enhances Removal of Hydrophobic Organic Contaminants from Eurasian Arctic Shelf Waters" by Xiaodi Shi, Laurent Oziel, Jonathan P. Benskin, Örjan Gustafsson, and Anna Sobek This study bridges sediment hydrophobic organic contaminant (HOC) concentrations with sediment organic matter properties spanning the full land-to-ocean continuum of organic carbon across the Eurasian Arctic shelves and reveals that HOC concentrations in marine organic matter are an order of magnitude higher than those in terrestrially dominated sediments.Via coupling empirical HOC concentrations in organic matter with the state‑of‑the‑art ocean–ice biogeochemistry model, we estimated climate-driven changes of the HOC sediment sink in the Eurasian Arctic shelves for the 21st century. Files: -Figure files contain the raw data underlying figures in the main text of the manuscript. -Supplementary Dataset contains: Table S1. Sampling and biogeochemistry information and concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls in sediment samples measured in the current study. Table S2. Sampling and biogeochemistry information and concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls in sediment samples in literature. Table S5. Time series of export fluxes of marine organic carbon to sediment beds and the ratio of polychlorinated biphenyl sink associated with marine organic carbon between two scenarios.
