The public open source of vertically-resolved cloud hydrometeor profiles of CloudSat-CALIPSO 2C-ICE product [Deng et al., 2010; 2013; http://www.cloudsat.cira.colostate.edu/] provides a reference for the global evaluation of cloud ice water path (CIWP) and total ice water path (TIWP). The data are derived from a retrieval flag-based partitioning method as a guide to sort ice mass retrievals into two categories based on 2C-ICE data [Li et al., 2012].   REFERENCES: Deng, M., G.
