We sequenced the genotype of a Drosophila melanogaster homozygous individuals collected from the strain symbolised w; gammaCOP14a/TM6TbHu, derived in our laboratory by the imprecise excision of the P{lacW} transposon from gammaCOPS057302 progenitor (https://flybase.org/reports/FBal0191889#phenotypic_data_sub). This insertion is located in gammaCOP (Coat Protein (coatomer) gamma) essential gene located on 3R chromosome. The allele gammaCOP14a is viable in homozygous individuals, but the adults are sterile inter se. This strain is also mutant for the white gene located on X chromosome.The sequencing experiment was conducted using Oxford Nanopore Technologies' platform with the Ligation Sequencing Kit v14, starting from 1500 ng of DNA input. Genomic DNA was extracted from 15 male and 15 female individuals using a conventional protocol based on Tris-HCl, EDTA, NaCl, SDS, KAc and LiCl, yielding a 327 ng/uL concentration. Sequencing was performed on a MinION Mk1B device, utilizing a FLO-MIN114 Flow Cell.
