Stabilization of acute alopecia areata flares with short-term omalizumab in patients relapsing during JAK inhibitor treatment

This retrospectively analyzed 13 patients with alopecia areata who experienced acute flares during JAK inhibitor therapy, either without tapering or following tapering/discontinuation. This the first study to evaluate short-term omalizumab as an adjunctive therapy for acute AA flares during JAK inhibitor treatment in patients with atopic background, suggesting that the IgE/Th2 pathway may contribute to relapse in this subset.
