DNA methylation is an important mechanism of plant epigenomes, involved in regulating gene expression under environment stress. Nitrogen (N) resource is a significant limiting factor for plant growth and productivity in both natural and agricultural systems. To cope with the flexible environmental N changes, transgenic technolgies have been applied to enhance the N use efficiency (NUE) in crops. Here, we use Whole Genome Bisulfite Sequencing (WGBS) and Methylated DNA Immunoprecipitation Sequencing (MEDIP-seq) to study genome-wide methylation across transgenic plants with higher NUE, transgenic controls and their wild types.
