Gene Ontology Biological Process Annotations for Previously Unannotated Key Events in Organ-Specific Adverse Outcome Pathway Networks

This dataset contains Gene Ontology (GO) Biological Process (BP) annotations for previously unannotated Key Events (KEs) in organ-specific Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) networks for the brain, kidney, liver, and lung. The annotations were generated using a structured manual curation workflow applied to KEs lacking biological process annotations in AOP-Wiki. Candidate GO biological process terms were identified using the KE title and, where available, the KE description and relevant AOP context, with AmiGO2 as the primary search tool. For each KE, the best-fitting GO BP term was assigned based on the available evidence. These annotations would enable the systematic mapping of gene sets to KEs.
