We have isolated Sphingobium sp. YG1 from a marine sediment taken from seabed at a depth of 102 m in Kagohima Bay, Japan, which degrades several plant-derived aromatic monomers. To acquire some biochemical findings, we attempt to perform whole genome sequencing of Sphingobium sp. YG1, and compare the sequences to those of related species.
