资源简介:
Panamerican Consultants, Inc., under a cooperative agreement with the United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, Fort Detrick, Maryland, conducted a Phase I archaeological survey at Fort Monroe, Hampton, Virginia. Occupying the north side of the entrance to the James River, the fort’s location from the initial arrival of European settlers onward was seen as critical to local and regional defense. Fort Monroe was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960 and listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and in the National Register of Historic Places (#66000912) in 1966.
