The rapid spread of antibiotic resistance is a serious problem owing to the limited treatment options. The aim of the work reported here was to better understand the mechanisms of resistance or reduced susceptibility following prolonged adaptation to synthetic mimics of antimicrobial peptides such as ceragenins and last-line antibiotic colistin in an E.hormaechei clinical isolate.
