"The purpose of the project was to develop a means by which detailed information on the vegetation of coastal non-tidal wetlands, and the location, extent, and values of different types of vegetation could be interactively manipulated by computer. The management system to emerge with the help of the computerized capability was intended bto permit the utilization of a large variety of data types, including aerial photography, satellite imagery (in digital form), soils information, NWI mapping data, and USGS digital line graph data."--Leaf 2.
