HDMI cable test data for the study, Evaluation of HDMI 2.1b Cables for Analog Multichannel Audio Transmission
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains measurements evaluating the performance of HDMI 2.1b Type A cables for analog multi-channel audio transmission, compared to a standard Hosa TRS patch cable. The data were collected to assess the feasibility of repurposing HDMI cables as a cost-effective alternative to traditional multi-channel audio cables for professional and consumer audio applications. Detailed methodologies, measurement protocols, and results are provided in the associated article (Kim, J., Evaluation of HDMI 2.1b Cables for Analog Multichannel Audio Transmission, unpublished, 2025). The dataset includes measurements for three HDMI 2.1b Type A cables from different manufacturers at lengths of 1 m, 3 m, and 5 m, alongside a Hosa TRS patch cable (30 cm) and TRS cable (5.4 m). All measurements were conducted at a 192 kHz sample rate with 32-bit float precision, following relevant industry standards. Dataset Contents: Crosstalk.xlsx: Inter-channel crosstalk measurements for six audio channels, comparing HDMI and TRS cables. THD -20dBFS.xlsx: Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise (THD+N) measurements at a fixed input level for six channels. THD Input.xlsx: THD+N measurements across varying input levels for six channels. Frequency Response/: Frequency response data for six channels, including: Text files (.txt) with amplitude values. Graphs visualizing frequency response for HDMI and TRS cables. Phase Invert Test.xlsx: Phase inversion test results for HDMI and TRS cables, including RMS and peak values. MUSHRA Test Result.xlsx: Subjective listening test scores from a MUSHRA-like protocol, evaluating seven stereo audio samples. Measurement Conditions: Objective measurements were performed using professional audio equipment and custom Python scripts (available at JYKlabs GitHub). Subjective tests involved 15 participants using high-quality audio interfaces and headphones. HDMI cables were adapted with TRS connectors for multi-channel audio transmission, as detailed in the associated article. Usage Notes: This dataset is intended for researchers and audio engineers studying analog audio transmission using HDMI cables. For detailed information on cable preparation, measurement protocols, and statistical analysis, refer to the unpublished article (Kim, J., 2025). Data are provided in Excel (.xlsx) for tabular results and text (.txt) for frequency response, with accompanying graphs.
