Genotyping and Molecular characterization of ESBL-producing and Carbapenem-resistant Escherichia coli and Enterobacter hormaechei isolated from sick cats in Lebanon

The goal of this study is to characterize the resistance patterns, sequence types, plasmid incompatibility groups, and serotypes of ESBL-producing and CRE Escherichia coli and Enterobacter hormaechei isolated from sick cats in Lebanon to compare with those of clinical isolates. This is based on the principles of the One Health Approach, which aims to mitigate the spread of infectious agents through studying the interactions between pets and their owners.
