Study of strain and defects in diamond correlated to the optical emission

This proposal aims to investigate the relationship between crystal defects and X-ray Excited Optical Luminescence (XEOL) in diamond using the microLaue instrument available at BM32. By correlating the structural defects and their signature in the strain field tensor with the optical properties (defect bands), we aim at improving the understanding of the structural and optical properties in technologically relevant semiconducting materials
