A studio portrait of two Chinese men, by F. G. Schumacher, 7 and 9 Spring Street, Los Angeles, California, USA, circa 1888. The image shows the man, wearing traditional dress and seated in chairs next to a small parlor table. Each holds a book in one hand on their lap. The photographer's name and city of business is at the bottom, while the same with a street address and note about ordering duplicates is on the reverse. There is some cracking of the emulsion and light soiling, as well as edge rubbing, but the overall condition is good.
