Microsatellite data of the coastal fish <em>Umbrina canosai</em> in the Southwestern Atlantic, from ten polymorphic loci and five locations: Niterói (Rio de Janeiro state, RJ), Ilhabela (São Paulo state, SP) and Rio Grande (Rio Grande do Sul state, RS) in Brazil; and San Clemente del Tuyú (SCT) and Necochea (NEC) in the Buenos Aires province, Argentina. These data were used in the article “<em>Microsatellites reveal high genetic connectivity and no genetic bottleneck for the Argentine croaker (Umbrina canosai, Sciaenidae) in the Southwestern Atlantic</em>”. The files are, respectively: 1. Microsatellite data in genotypes (i.e., fragment size in base pairs), in Genepop format (.txt); 2. Microsatellite data in genotypes, adjusted by the Oosterhout method of Micro-Checker software, to correct null alleles. Within each location, the adjusted genotypes are reordered according to allele size, losing the original correspondence between sample number and genotype. However, this does not cause problems to the population analysis. Also in Genepop format (.txt); 3. Microsatellite allelic frequencies, adjusted by the Oosterhout method of Micro-Checker software. Data from FSTAT output. It is shown the overall allele frequencies weighted (All_W) and unweighted (All_UW) by sample size (.txt); 4. Table: estimated frequency of null alleles for the ten microsatellite loci, calculated in the Micro-Checker software (.docx).<br> <br>
