Anonymised Firm-Level SME Survey Dataset from Kazakhstan

This record contains anonymised firm-level survey data and reproducibility materials from a study of small and medium-sized enterprises in Kazakhstan. The analytical dataset comprises 500 active small and medium-sized enterprises operating across Kazakhstan. The data cover firm characteristics, female ownership and leadership, environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, digital capability, employment outcomes, business resilience, inclusive-growth indicators, business support and access to finance. Direct personal and company identifiers and open-text responses are excluded from the publicly shared analytical dataset. Supporting materials include a data dictionary, reproducibility code, software requirements and documentation enabling reproduction of the main statistical analyses. The research protocol received institutional ethics approval (Ethics Approval Letter No. 53a, 15 January 2026).
