A paper prepared for John Beavers' course Lexical Semantic Typology. In it, the author describes the semantics associated with three verbs of motion in Quiahije Eastern Chatino which, like other Otomanguean languages of Oaxaca, makes reference to a deictic base that is distinct from the speaker.
