Exploring the Digital Image Archive of Geologic Core at KGS

<p>The Kentucky Geological Survey (KGS) stores and maintains a large collection of geologic material from across the state. Our collection, housed at EARL, includes rock cores and well cuttings from thousands of wells and boreholes drilled for oil and gas production; mineral and coal exploration; environmental studies; geotechnical analysis; and academic research.The Kentucky Geological Survey (KGS) stores and maintains an extensive collection of geologic material from across the state. Our collections, housed at EARL, include rock cores, well cuttings, soil cores, auger samples, and related subsamples, maps publications, and other documents representing thousands of wells and boreholes drilled for oil and gas production; mineral and coal exploration;  environmental studies;  geotechnical analysis; and academic research. </p>
