Spodoptera litura is the most important polyphagous pest in Asia, distributed throughout tropical and subtropical parts of India, China and Japan. S. litura larvae feed on over 100 crops. Here we report on the complete genome sequence, providing insights into the polyphagy, pesticides resistance and widespread distribution in Asia.
