This repository collects datasets from the Tara Oceans expedition aligned with the GOOS Biology and Ecosystem Essential Ocean Variables (BioEco EOVs) framework. Datasets will be deposited progressively as they are processed and curated.
The repository currently includes two datasets for the Phytoplankton Biomass and Diversity EOV:
18S rRNA metabarcoding diversity metrics — diversity indices derived from V4 and V9 regions of the 18S rRNA gene using environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding.
Light microscopy diversity metrics — diversity indices derived from morphological identification of phytoplankton using light microscopy.
Each dataset is accompanied by a README file describing all column headers and variables.
