The dog in The Night Watch

This dataset contains a bibliography as well as the high resolution images from the Rijksmuseum collection that were collected for the short notice: A. Lenders, 'The Dog in The Night Watch: Rembrandt Inspired by Adriaen van de Venne', Rijksmuseum Bulletin 73 (2025) no. 3, pp. 213-223, https://doi.org/10.52476/trb.24706. Images from other collections are not included in this dataset. The article states that the dog in The Night Watch was based on a design by Adriaen van de Venne, made for the title page of the book Self-stryt by Jacob Cats. (2026-01).

The MA-XRF calcium map of the dog in The Night Watch that's in the article (fig. 6), is not included in this dataset.
