Hydrographic data from project HondCTD.Part II: Ocean Rainforest (ORF) This project was funded by the Faroese Fisheries Research Fund (Fiskivinnuroyndir; www.fvg.fo), grant number: 22/22427. A full description of the project, including data acquisition and processing, is provided in the accompanying report, available in this Zenodo repository: Aref and Hátún, 2026. Hydrographic monitoring at two seaweed farms. Havstovan NR.: 26-03. Data ORF_CTD_vp2.zip — raw data from the SWiFT CTDplus (CTD with chlorophyll-a) (The prefix ORF refers to Ocean Rainforest; vp2 denotes the output format selected in the Valeport software.) ORF_SwiftsCTD_ODV_QC.txt Corresponding compiled dataset, averaged to 1 m depth intervals. This has been coarsely quality controlled, using Ocean Data View (ODV) This files can be imported directly into the ODV software, a freely available software package. A set of MATLAB scripts used to compile the raw data, bin-average to 1 m depth levels, and generate the ODV-compliant files is also included. These are provided as a starting point — users will need to adapt them to their own instruments and file paths. - Open_CTD_VP2.m Opens the individual *.vp2 files, collects the data, averages to 1 m depth bins. - Make_ODV_file.m Compiles all data into a single ASCII/CSV file, that can be directly imported to ODV, Excel, and other software. Matlab scripts for gridding data onto rectilinear standard sections: - grid_ctd_transect_QC.m (The user defines section endpoints, selects the number of equidistant positions, and the search radius for the interpolation. ) - Run_Gotuvik.m. This applies 'grid_ctd_transect_QC.m' to produce the standard section in Gøtuvík - Run_Funning.m This applies 'grid_ctd_transect_QC.m' to produce the standard section in Funningsfjørður (Úti á Barmi) - Interpolate_Temp.m Fills gaps in the already gridded temperature data. - Interpolate_Salt.m Fills gaps in the already gridded salinity data. - Interpolate_Fluor.m Fills gaps in the already gridded flourescence data. Matlab.mat files, containing the 3D gridded data files, with associated information (depth vector, time vector, distance vector, statistics and end positions of the gridded transect): Gotuvik_gridded.mat and Funning_gridded.mat The endpoints of these gridded sections are: Gøtuvík [-6.689,62.162] (nearest land) to [-6.672;62.173] Funningsfjørður [-6.919,62.284] (nearest land) to [-6.935,62.2915]
