资源简介:
The Union Chain Bridge (listed Grade England, Category A Scotland) is an early (1819) chain-link suspension bridge across the River Tweed between the parishes of Horncliffe, Northumberland, and Hutton, Scottish Borders. The bridge components have been subject to a number of repairs/replacements over the years, and is now to be dismantled for thorough cleaning and restoration by Northumberland County Council. The as-existing photographic recording was undertaken for Spence & Dower, conservation architects. It meets one of the requirements of Northumberland Conservation's Historic Building recording programme for archaeological mitigation as a condition of Listed Building Consent. Spence & Dower will maintain a watching brief during the dismantling and restoration works, and the as-existing record will form part of their final, full, report. The as-existing record report 'As-existing photographic recording (as part of a wider Historic Building Recording programme' (NCAS January 2020) has been submitted to and approved by Northumberland Conservation..
