Replication Data for: Replication Code and Pseudo data for "The Effects of Going Public on Firm Profitability and Strategy"

The replication package contains a “Read me” file explaining how to get to the final database from the original Amadeus/Dealogic/Zephyr sample. It also includes three folders: “Do files”, “Log files,” and “Data.”
Due to confidentiality issues, we cannot share the data. Instead, we share data files with untraceable IDs (firm-attempts), but preserving the original years, event-years and filing-years. All other variables are set to missing. These datasets preserve the structure and number of observations presented as the data used in the paper. We also include a pseudo database that allows researchers to replicate the paper's main results. These datasets are in the “Data” folder. Please refer to the “Read me” document for a more detailed description.
The “Do-files” folder contains 5 subfolders. The subfolders called “Main Tables,” “Main Figures,” “Appendix Tables,” and “Appendix Figures” contain several do-files used for the data description and estimations presented in the paper. The “Pseudo” folder contains the do-file used to create the pseudo database and replicates the main table of the paper with that pseudo data.
The log files created by running the do-files are in the “Log files” folder.
