The data uploaded consists of results from an RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation microarray experiment, comparing KYSE450 human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma cells with SOX2 knockdown (KYSE450SOX2KD) against wild-type controls (KYSE450WT). Similar to how ribosome profiling captures the translation landscape by identifying mRNA regions engaged by ribosomes, this m6A microarray aims to profile the epitranscriptomic landscape by detecting the presence and abundance of m6A modifications across the transcriptome. The experimental procedure likely involved isolating total RNA from both KYSE450SOX2KD and KYSE450WT cell populations, followed by labeling the RNA samples and hybridizing them to a microarray chip designed to contain probes specific for detecting m6A modifications at known or predicted sites within transcripts. The signal intensities generated from the array correspond to the relative abundance of m6A modifications at these sites in each sample.
