Allotetraploid-like Citrus hybrids transcriptomic response to salt stress

Diploid (2x) and a tetraploid (4x) Citrandarin, hybrids obtained by somatic hybridization of Cleopatra and Poncirus, were evaluated for their salt stress response. Their parents are known to have contrasted behavior against salt stress (tolerant Citrus reshni Hort. ex Tan. and susceptible Poncirus trifoliata (L.) Raf.). RNASeq was performed on both control and treated plants. Our study aims to evaluate the respective role of the ploidy, salt stress and/or the interaction of both factors on 2x and 4x citrandarin under salt stress.
