The obligation of the present study were using high-throughput RNA-sequencing to identify the gene expression profiles in both of T. gondii and the infected PK-15 cells following treatment with monensin. We found that thousands of T. gondii genes were downregulated by monensin treatment. These results could assist us to understand the T. gondii clearance mechanism of monensin.
